Healdsburg Resort House

Healdsburg has many amazing restaurants,
impossible to list them all.
You really can't go wrong.

However, here are our top 10:

For Dinner:

Dry Creek Kitchen

Our top choice for dinner in Healdsburg. What a lovely experience. Yes, it has been around for while and it has had it's ups and downs, but right now this spot right across from the Plaza and owned by Charlie Palmer continues to smoke it. They do a 3-course for $83/person and it always delivers. The dining room is beautiful and the service top notch. Another bonus: if you bring a Sonoma wine, they waive corkage. Also, go on Thursdays and they do a $55 3-course neighbors special (but available to anyone). Love this place.

Valette

Right in town and a lovely dining experience. Dustin Vallette is the local dining rockstar (but still incredibly down to earth). He has been working in various kitchens around Healdsburg his entire life so this restaurant is a dream come true for him (and his brother). You will usually see Dustin creating magic and bring his passion to life in the restaurant's open kitchen. If you go, don't miss the Day Boat Scallops en Croute.

Cyrus

Healdsburg has many expensive, fancy restaurants. No shortage here. However, if you have to pick one, our current reco is for Cyrus. Located just 5 minutes from the house in Geyserville, this dinner is truly a journey, an experience. You do not sit at a table for 4 hours. Instead you travel through the dinner. First the Bubbles Lounge for cocktails and tastes. Then on to the kitchen for an intimate, very personal dining experience with Doug Keane, owner and chef. Then on to the main dining room with fantastic views of vineyards and your main courses. And then finally through the Chocolate Room for a last treat and parting gift. Very fun!

Sushi By Scratch

The amazing (but quite expensive) sushi place.  A very fun and tasty experience.  16 individual bites all served at a bar seating more than 10 people with a great sake pairing.  When we go, it runs in total about $600/person but it will be some of the best sushi you will ever have.

Sakeo

OK, if you don't want to mortgage your home for sushi at Sushi By Scratch, this is our "go-to" for weekly sushi. The amount of fish on the sushi is very generous (and delicious). They are famous for their martini prawns and carburetor roll. The building and ambiance are fine, nothing special. And it is off the Plaza by a few blocks, right next to the Goodwill (don’t let this scare you). They are our little hidden secret in Healdsburg. We often take out from there, so real easy to pick up a big order and take it back to the house.

Starks Steak House

OK, yes not in Healdsburg, but close by in Santa Rosa. We love this place. The steaks and sides are just beautiful (and well priced compared to Goodnights in town). Don't miss the calamari, onion rings and sticky rice. Lovely atmosphere and great bar. If you are up for a little adventure, do not pass this place up.

Catelli's

A great Italian in Geyserville (only a 5 minute drive from the house). Family-owned and locally very loved. Also has some celebrity cred as Gaga has dined here. Great bar and amazing, huge outdoor space. Don't miss their homemade, signature 10-layer lasagna - yum!

Pizzando

Pizzando is an amazing Italian restaurant serving a variety of pizzas, pastas, and other specialty items. Our favorites are the Broccolini pizza, the caesar salad, and the fries + brussel sprouts are amazing. Sitting on the outdoor patio is great, as you're right across the Plaza and in the middle of the bustle of town. You also can’t go without getting the Straus chocolate and vanilla soft serve!

Gallina D'Oro

Our favorite Mexican restaurant in town. Located just off the plaza with a cute outdoor patio seating area. Everything on the menu is amazing, and the free chips + salsa are great. Also, amazing guac and oh those margaritas. It’s so easy to order to-go, and really fast, which we do often.

For Breakfast, Coffee, Lunch, Brunch:

Quail & Condor

Best baked goods in town....period.  The croissants, scones, cookies and everything else are heavenly.  Expect a line, but oh so worth it.  They have tables so you can dine-in and they have added some more traditional breakfast items as of late.  You need one of their croissants before you leave Healdsburg!

Acorn Cafe

Acorn is our "go-to" for brunch.  Lemon Ricotta hotcakes, Journeyman bacon eggs benedict, Breakfast Burger, Acai Berry Bowl - all very, very tasty.  And do not pass up the incredibly addictive Peanut Butter Banana Bagel!  Great atmosphere and a great outdoor patio with a great view of the plaza. Right across from the plaza (and with an outdoor patio with a perfect view of the town).

Costeaux French Bakery & Cafe

Great french bistro restaurant with a solid breakfast.  Great outdoor patio seating.  Only a block from the Plaza. And if you can't do the sit-down breakfast, great bakery/pastries.

Black Oak Coffee

A town favorite, Black Oak hosts everyone from locals to people from out of town. Their coffee is great, and their seasonal specials are also fun. We love their breakfast burritos and pastries, the jam biscuit especially. It's such a convenient and popular place in town to grab a quick coffee or have breakfast.

Plank Coffee

Plank is amazing. Unfortunately, it's not right in town but that doesn't stop us from continually going there. Their coffee is amazing and they have so many food options. There are so many bagels, pastry, and egg dishes to choose from. Standouts are the breakfast burrito, honestly any of their bagel options, cherry scone, and corn cookie. The place itself is also very cute, with much seating inside and some outside.

Troubadour

The best sandwich in town.  Sister place to Quail & Condor which has the best bread in town so no wonder. Freshly made and gone quick.  Not cheap but perfection has its price!

We also have some great markets if you are looking to cook at the house.

Big Johns Market

The closest market to the house.  Great meats, fish, cheeses and take-away.

Safeway

For the basics, but also really good produce (would go to Big Johns or Olivers for meat/fish).
1115 Vine Street, Healdsburg

Olivers

About 15 minutes away but great prepared food and produce.

And sometimes you just want to have something delivered.

The best bet for delivery to the property is one of the food delivery apps. The main ones that deliver are GrubHub and Uber Eats. While the offerings are less than what you would have in a major city, solid options include:

Agave

Great higher-end Mexican

Himalayan

Great Indian food

Mombo Pizza

Good new pizza place in town

Otoro Sushi

Good sushi and close by
